Dr. Klodian Xhanari graduated from University of Tirana, with a Diploma in General Chemistry in 2004. After graduation he started working as a Research Assistant at the Environmental Department of the Hydrometeorological Institute in Albania. Within this role he was responsible for field and laboratory work assessing the physical-chemical parameters of the surface and ground waters in the Republic of Albania.
In 2011, he received his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim, Norway.
From May 2012 to June 2014 he worked as Senior Monitoring and Analytical Control Expert for an EU funded project in Tirana (SELEA – “Technical Assistance for Strengthening the Capacity of the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Water Administration in Albania for Law Drafting and Enforcement of National Environmental Legislation”). He was responsible for assisting the Albanian National Environmental Agency in managing the national and environmental monitoring and laboratory control system. Preparation of samples, ad-hoc and project specific analyses, as well as organization and follow up of the accreditation procedure of the NEA laboratory was also part of his daily work. In the same project he was Senior Vocational Trainer assisting with the development of training materials in environmental protection and delivery to the National Environment Agency and the State Environment Inspectorate.
In 2015 he joined the Laboratory of Analytical Chemistry and Industrial Analysis at University of Maribor, Slovenia, as a post doctorate fellow, under the Erasmus Mundus programme.
Currently he is a full time lecturer at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, University of Tirana, Albania.
