ICERMS has been working on two consecutive animal health projects in Albania where they have been responsible for developing and delivery vocational training programmes to veterinary inspectors working both within the country and on its border crossing points.

Veterinary Inspectors underwent vocational training both in the classroom and in the field where they undertook practical work in animal healthcare waste management and infection/disease control at abattoirs/livestock markets/transportation hubs/farms/research facilities and border crossing points.

The programme addressed salient issues to the Veterinary Inspectors including:

  • Health & Safety
  • Animal Healthcare Waste Management
  • Biosecurity
  • Inter-Agency Co-operation
  • Inspection Methodologies and Techniques
  • Evidence Collection and Management
